Complete Dental Services

Exams & Cleanings

Regular cleanings are imperative to good oral health. Our teeth cleanings target plaque, tartar, and food buildup on your teeth and gums. We recommend that you visit at least twice a year so we can monitor any changes in your mouth and provide you with helpful resources to boost your at-home hygiene routine. Dr. Jones practices microscopic dentistry and works with specialists in the area to perform full mouth rehabilitation.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are an important tool used to obtain vital information regarding your oral health and check for cavities, gum disease, and other oral abnormalities. Our digital radiography systems greatly reduce the amount of radiation our patients are exposed to.

TMD Solutions

Temporomandibular joint dysfunction sufferers are numerous in today’s stressed society, and few practitioners fully understand or are willing to treat these individuals. Most of these patients can have relief without surgery after a careful diagnosis and non-invasive treatment.

Sleep Apnea Treatment

Recent advances in diagnostic techniques have enabled dentists to recognize and help treat airway problems that contribute to sleep disturbances such as “ sleep apnea.” This has become a significant problem for many individuals and if not diagnosed can pose serious health risks. Dr. Jones is trained to recognize signs of airway problems and will help direct patients to receive appropriate care.

Nitrous Oxide

Also known as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide combined with oxygen breathed during dental procedures can provide a very relaxing, comfortable experience for anxious patients. It is always available at our office for anyone who has moderate to mild anxiety.

Emergency Dental Care

Sudden toothache pains or infection can erupt overnight in some cases, thus requiring immediate attention. We will always make the effort to see any emergency as soon as possible on the same day in order to provide palliative care.

In the event of a true medical emergency, please call 911.

Preventative Care

Regular hygiene visits are vital to promoting healthy gum tissues. Periodontal disease is prevalent today and has been linked with other systemic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. It is preventable with regular hygiene care at the dentist’s office and good home care practices, which we routinely educate on and promote. Early diagnosis and treatment are the keys to good oral health. It is also important to have oral cancer screenings at these visits, which we routinely perform.

Extractions

Hopeless teeth have no alternative but to be removed. Most extractions can be performed in-office under local anesthetic and nitrous oxide (if the patient is anxious). Occasionally, it is better to have an oral surgeon perform these procedures under general sedation, in which case a referral to the appropriate surgeon will be made. Wisdom teeth are usually best done in this manner.

Bruxism (Grinding) Splints

A common condition today is the tendency to grind one’s teeth, primarily at night while sleeping. This potentially damaging habit is called “bruxism” and over a lifetime can mutilate a dentition as well as damage the joints. A carefully designed “splint” appliance can effectively reduce the effects of bruxing when worn at night, making the wearer more comfortable and protecting the dentition.

Specialty Care Referrals (Interdisciplinary Care)

Many cases present multiple dental and facial problems, which may best be diagnosed with an interdisciplinary team approach. The general dentist initiates the exam process and then makes referrals to specialists who examine the patient and provide input on their area of expertise. Together, as a team, all of the collaborating doctors develop an optimum treatment plan for the patient, and then coordinate its completion. Communication between the doctors and patient occurs securely through the patient’s own virtual chart, which is managed on the internet by US Health Record. This represents the most ideal and comprehensive form of dental health care.

Conscious Sedation

Some patients have a true phobia of dentistry. An alternative approach for these highly anxious individuals may be administering sedative agents used in combination to provide a moderate level of sedation. This produces a very relaxing effect, allowing the patient to comfortably undergo dental procedures without fear and often without any recollection of the visit. Dr. Jones has taken advanced training to safely provide these sedative techniques and maintains active membership in DOCs Education.
